All of the image consultants offered a home service, to come and help winnow out your wardrobe so that you are left only with clothing that makes you look your best. I felt comfortable enough with Davidson after my initial consultation to invite her to do this with me…By the time Davidson left my house that afternoon, I had hardly a thing left that I could wear, but I did look good in and love every item that remained. And, just as I’d felt light and nimble when I finally cut off my last inches of colored hair, I now felt unaccountably joyful having purchased the necessary emotionally laden fashion baggage. The sense of liberation was profound…”
